Canada Day is a perfect excuse to get out and explore in your community! We have seven great ideas for how to spend your long weekend and celebrate Canada's 149th birthday!
Harrison Hot Springs / Agassiz
The friendly staff and volunteers at Kilby Historic Site know how to throw a party! Celebrate Dominion Day on July 1st at this 1920's historic farm and general store by exploring your local history! Fully guided tours will be held at noon & 2 pm to give you a chance to hear the whole story of Harrison Mills and the Kilby Family, followed by a tasty BBQ! Folk Musician and Fiddler Kurt Langmann will be on site throughout the day. Celebrate with a cake cutting at 11:30 am & an old fashioned ice cream demonstration at 1 pm.
Stop by Muddy Waters Cafe during the Canada Day festivities in Harrison Hot Springs to try there farm fresh salads and sandwiches! This new member of the Agassiz Circle Farm Tour works with local farms to source local and seasonal ingredients whenever possible and we love their support of local!
Agassiz will celebrate Canada Day at Centennial Park (Agricultural Grounds) from 10am to 2pm with the Agassiz Farm Fresh Farmers Market taking part. Be sure to stop by the Agassiz Museum and Visitor Centre, housed in one of Canada's oldest CN Rail stations and filled with historical memorabilia outlining the history of this beautiful area of BC! Several of Langley's amazing wineries are having Canada Day events, why not celebrate with them in the vineyards?
Chaberton Estate Winery is celebrating Canada Day on July 1st and then their 25th Anniversary on July 2-3rd! They keep the party going July 4th, for all our US friends! Visit Fort Langley National Historic Site on Canada Day to celebrate Canada’s 149th Birthday at the site where British Columbia was born! Stop by Maple Ridge Memorial Peace Park on July 1st from 10-3 to take part in Maple Ridge's Canada Day celebrations. Leghorn Ranch will be there providing pony rides for the kids and there will be a market, entertainment, singing, dancing, activities, food and fun all throughout the day!
