Father's Day 2017 - Ideas from across B.C.
Jun 13, 2017
Father’s Day is just around the corner and we have all kinds of suggestions for you:
You could pile the kids and Dad in the car and head to Abbotsford to spend the day at Maan Farms Country Experience, where the Critter Corral and tons of activities are waiting. Or stop by the Ecodairy from 11-4 and Dad will get a free tour, take a photo with him in the photo booth, and enter their draw for a great prize. If your dad has always been a cowboy at heart, book a trail ride with Leghorn Ranch in Pitt Meadows and spend the day in the great outdoors with beautiful horses!
Krause Berry Farm in Langley is having a special Father’s Day event with their famous waffles, but remember to make your reservations quickly. This event books up every year!
Kilby Historic Site in Harrison Mills is celebrating Father’s Day with their Black Powder event! You’ll find muskets, pistols, bows and arrows and even a cannon on site with demonstrations happening all day. There’s a barbecue available or enjoy their roast beef dinner, complete with Yorkshire pudding.
How about visiting one of the 15 wineries that are part of the Circle Farm Tour? There you can find award-winning local wines, honey wines, as well as fruit wines. There’s Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm & Meadery, Maan Farms & Estate Winery, Mt Lehman, Ripples Winery, Singletree Winery and Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery in Abbotsford. In Langley, we have Backyard Wines, Chaberton Estate Winery, Festina Lente Estate Winery, Glass House Estate Winery, The Fort Wine Company, Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery, Township 7 and Vista D’oro. And last, but certainly not least, we have Blue Heron Fruit Winery in Pitt Meadows.
Does Dad prefer beer or cider? Check out Old Yale Brewing in Chilliwack, where you will get a special Father’s Day card when you purchase one of their Summer Craft Coolers. Then there’s always Fraser Valley Cider or Roots & Wings Distillery in Langley for something completely different.
Over in Maple Ridge, at a wonderful restaurant called Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill, you can treat Dad to brunch or stop by for their Sunday Family Roast Dinner, which is sure to please even the fussiest eater.
Happy Father's Day!
