Pumpkin Patch Trail
Oct 12, 2018
With Fall in full swing, the beautiful chilling breeze, the gorgeous colours of the leaves – it’s the time of year that families all around look forward to… the pumpkin hunt! This month is full of festivities, everyone is pulling out their scarves and boots, and it’s time to find your pumpkin to carve.
Luckily, the Fraser Valley has an array of farms and patches for you to explore and find the pumpkin that’s right for you! Plan to spend the day and see what each stop has to offer.
Here are the five locations along the Pumpkin Patch Trail:
1.Eagle Acres Dairy

Once known as Aldor Acres Dairy Centre, this farm has some fantastic new additions for the season. At Eagle Acres, you’re able to enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch, or you can stroll out to a closer patch beside the cows and pick your own. Included in your admission is a self-guided tour of the dairy barn complete with themed displays. You can also venture around and visit a wide variety of other common farm animals both inside the barns or outside in pens.

Fantasy Farms, located in Chilliwack, is home to Petey's Pumpkin Patch. With over 5,000 square feet of indoor activities, you can enjoy a train or wagon ride rain or shine this Fall. During your visit, the price of entry includes all of the farm activities, such as the five fun corn mazes to choose from, a family fun zone with bouncy rides, Petey the Giant Pumpkin, and a train or wagon ride out to one of the most picturesque Pumpkin Patches in the Valley! And for even more fun, this year’s new addition: Fort Runamuk!
3.Chilliwack Corn Maze

The Chilliwack Corn Maze has been in operation since 1999. What keeps visitors coming back to this farm each year are the annual updates, such as new attractions, improvements made to existing attractions, and a new maze design, keeping things fresh and everyone filled with anticipation. One of the greatest attractions at the Chilliwack Corn Maze, other than the maze itself, is the pumpkin patch, of course! With over 15 varieties of pumpkins, you’ll surely find the perfect pick. While you’re there, enjoy the maze, corn sandbox, the hay bale maze, giant jumping pillow, and so much more! Be sure to get there before their closing date on October 31!

Dreams really do come true during the Fall Festival at Maan Farms. Here, they are bringing to life some of our very favourite childhood classics. Visitors will discover a pumpkin patch with all white pumpkins and Snow White herself. But wait, there's more… that’s not the only pumpkin to wander through! A Cinderella Pumpkin Patch with the princess herself is also going to be spreading magic. If you’re not in a princess mood, come to pick out the pumpkin to match your needs - tons of colours, types, sizes and shapes to be found. In addition, they offer hay rides, apple cider slushies, corn on the cob, and even a petting zoo. Of course, nothing beats Mama Maan’s array of free samples!
5.Taves Family Farm

The U-Pick Pumpkin Patch is officially open at Taves Family Farm! Nothing says Fall like going into the Pumpkin Patch and choosing your very own personalized pumpkin. While the smaller ones (especially Cinderella and Sugar Pumpkins) are better for making pumpkin pies, larger ones help kids carve that perfect Jack-o’-lantern. They even carry super-size pumpkins which average at 50 lbs! Here, you will find a ton of varieties and colours to choose from. Interested in an heirloom pumpkin? They come in blush pink, blue, and white! Don’t forget to stop by the petting barn and general store on your way out.
Do you have any traditions when it comes to choosing your pumpkins? We’d love to hear about them, and which patch is your favourite to visit in October! To learn more about these Circle Farm Tour partners, visit: https://circlefarmtour.com
