THE FRASER VALLEY CORN MAZE TRAIL
Sep 26, 2019
Summer is transitioning into Fall, and the type of outdoor activities available are changing with the seasons. You might think there are fewer activities to enjoy in the Fall, but in the flourishing Fraser Valley, Fall is a bustling and busy season with so much to see and do. The valley is famous for producing bountiful crops of corn, which in turn means towering fields of corn stalks, perfect for getting lost in! Follow us down The Fraser Valley Corn Maze Trail and fill your calendar with fun (and frightening) events!
Here are 5 locations that will take you along the Fraser Valley Corn Maze Trail:
41905 Yale Road West, Chilliwack

A pioneer in the growing agri-tourism industry, The Chilliwack Corn Maze has been operating since 1999. Two families operate the corn maze, and each year, create a new design to keep the maze challenging and exciting. Enhancements are made and attractions added to the maze, which is usually designed to reflect a topical theme. This year’s design celebrates the Vancouver Canuck’s 50th anniversary and raises awareness and funds for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
The maze spans a whopping 12 acres, which can make your journey through it feel daunting. But don’t worry that you might get lost, as passports and challenges are provided to help you navigate the twists and turns. For an extra spooky twist, you can do the maze in the dark (not recommended for younger children). If you think the maze is too much for your littles, head indoors to the hay bale maze, which is more kid-sized! Besides the mazes, visitors can also enjoy a visit to the giant pumpkin patch and attractions like the giant jumping pillow, pedal carts, hayrides, and so much more.

It wouldn’t be Fall without some fright-inducing Halloween fun! Entering their 27th year, Reapers Haunted Attraction at Fantasy Farms in Chilliwack is one of the most frightening Halloween-themed theatrical experiences in Western Canada, with set designs and characters so well done, they rival famous theme parks! Walk through an insane asylum-themed maze, featuring crazed patients, and twisted doctors and hospital staff.
Or dare to enter the Blackout Maze of Terror. It’s a 22,000 square foot maze with little to no light, filled with everything from your worst nightmares, including the “Chainsaw Massacre” experience. It’s hair-raising, heart-pounding fun! Note: Reapers is not recommended for children under 10 years of age. Find out more at reapers.ca.
Fantasy Farms has plenty to do for the younger kids too! Kids will have a blast at Petey’s Pumpkin Patch and Family Fun Zone! Find a perfect pumpkin and choose from five different corn mazes to wander through! Take a train ride and visit the petting zoo. And not only is there outdoor fun, there’s also a 5,000 sq. ft. indoor space with plenty of activities and attractions! Find out more: peteyspumpkinpatch.ca. Both Reapers and Petey’s Pumpkin Patch open for the season on September 27th.
Maan Farms invites you to make their frightening farm event a tradition with two main attractions this year: Haunted Corn Maze, The Scariest Corn Maze in Canada will leave you wondering where reality ends and the show begins! Actors made up as ghoulish and frightening figures will scare your socks off as you make your way through the maze.
And brand new this year: Pitch Black, Where Darkness Grabs You takes the terror level up full tilt! When you enter this maze, you have a decision to make: will you simply explore the horrors of the darkness within, or take in the full interactive experience? Should you choose the interactive experience, the horrifying characters in the maze may grab you, hold you back, send you into hidden passageways, or even temporarily remove you from your group of friends. You’ll hear screams of terror all around you, but the loudest screams will be your own! Please note: these two events are not recommended for children under 10 years of age.
There are also a multitude of activities for the younger family members to enjoy; including a Snow-White pumpkin patch full of white pumpkins (and appearances by Snow White herself); Abbotsford’s Biggest Corn Maze; a petting zoo (featuring baby goats), hay wagon rides, and Barn Yard Play Land (which includes a zip line, giant slides, jumping pillow, pedal karts and more)!
